Origins[]

The Obayifo is one of a race of creatures with origins in African mythology, legend and folklore. In particular, accounts of its existence originate within the Ashanti and Dahomey tribes.

They are said to be very common in the lands where the Ashanti and Dahomey live.

Appearance[]

They typically resemble ordinary African people (eye color, hair color, hair texture, skin color, height, weight), with particularly shifty eyes.

They also glow in the dark, shining a phosphorescent light from their armpits and anus.

Behavior[]

They are insidious creatures, as befitting their nature as witches and vampires. In fact, the race's name, "Obayifo", means "child-snatcher", from the Ashanti oba ("child") and yi ("to take" or "to snatch")--and it comes from the Obayifo's tendency to call up spirits with their sorcery, who snatch up little children to feed the creature's vampiric diet.

Despite their vampiric tendencies, however, they are also capable of eating ordinary food. In fact, they are said to be so gluttonous, that many claim their love of food borders on obsession.
