Origins

The Kap-Dwa is a creature with origins in the mythology, legend and folklore of unknown cultural origin. While the Kap-Dwa is said by its discoverers to come from the land of Patagonia (a region in South America), no account of the creature's existence has been found to originate from within that region.

Likewise, its name seems to be a derivation of a Malaysian (Malay) phrase 'Kepala Dua', which means 'Two Heads', but there is no record of similar creatures within the mythology, legend or folklore.

The earliest known account of the Kap-Dwa's existence states that one of these creatures was captured by Spanish sailors in 1673. After he’d killed four of them, his captors plunged a boarding pike through his heart. His stuffed body has been on display in English sideshows since 1900 and in America since 1980.

That account comes from the fairly unorthodox media outlet known as the Fortean Times.
