Origins

The Pegasus is a creature with origins in Greek mythology, legend and folklore. The original Pegasus was the offspring of the Gorgon Medusa, and the Greek sea god Poseidon, and the brother of the giant, winged boar Chrysaor.

Later in life, the first Pegasus became the mount of the great hero Bellerophon, in his quest to slay the dreaded Chimera.

Appearance

The Pegasus is perhaps among the most recognizable mythical creatures, having the appearance of a powerful, handsome horse with wings. The specific breed of horse that a Pegasus resembles varies by its region of origin.
